Just wondering about this. I notice I can adjust RPM up and down without changing manifold pressure. What is the benefit/detriment of doing this?

Lower RPM should improve fuel economy (not sure if it does in AH yet). Maximum RPM provides maximum thrust.

LOL, no Rip...MAN pressure with throttle, RPM with +/-...

They are independent

I reduce RPM to slow the plane down on landing approaches and dives. It seems to have no effect on fuel consumption at this time.

Do you have to map the keys or are they already mapped. As it is now for me, depressing the +/- key has no affect. I should see the RPM meter increase/decrease, right?

I believe reduced RPM is functioning. I have milked my plane home on 10% fuel several times by backing the RPM down to 2100 and the MAN down to 35 or so. Just enough to keep her above stall speed. I can make an extra sector with this setting. The thing is remembering to turn it all back up when I get to combat

Well I don't know too much yet about this game and don't want to sound like I do, but...you are using the +/- on the number pad because the ones at the top of the keyboard won't do change RPM.

That's really wierd then because that's the default keys. When I do it I see the RPM needle move and there is an audible change in the motor. However, if you do it with WEP on neither happens. Like I said though, I'm too new to this game to be any sort of authority. Heck, I just got my first 2 kills last night after 3 days, hehe.

With WEP on it doesn't work. Also if you have RPM's lowered then hitting WEP will bring the RPM's up to maximum again. On aircraft with WEP that is.

lol. Come to think of it, I haven't tried it again since I reloaded my system. Iwas having a lot of trouble with my joystick in AH but that seems to be fixed now with the reload. Maybe the RPM switch is too. Will check tonight. Thanks for your input Soul.
