Hardness vs. Lethality
« on: January 31, 2005, 04:27:58 PM »
Yup, "strange things are happening" (old Red Buttons lead in phrase)

Looks like HiTech has softened the Bomber airframes, but increased the gunner positions lethality.

Since 2.02 came along, one fighter always kills one of my B24 lead plane's engines from 1000 out before I kill him, then the
engine always goes ablaze with fire and blows up the whole plane, where before it simply smoked and evenually quit, but kept on
flying on the other 3 engines. (or even two engines).

There seems to be no middle ground anymore.  Engines either not damaged or on fire. Nothing in between.

Have not survived with all 3 planes still flying after any first time fighter attack in 2.02 so far.  I start firing at 1200 out, in short bursts
and almost always kill the interceptor before 600 range.

Me thinks a lot of tweaking needs to be done, as opposed to writing these issues off to whining.
