New Dot Command .resetv
« on: February 01, 2005, 12:16:30 AM »
While I am over the hill...at 56, and still have issues with walking and chewing gum, I like this new command.  It was asked for us to report our findings.  My alzheimers doesn't recall where tho..so here it is.
I figured out that if I don't connect my brand new Logitek USB headset, my vox won't work.  It resolves the connection, but never switches into the game.  Tonight, it performed as usual.  I intentionally waited to connect it until after I launched AH.  I did a local and squad radio check.  Got back no reply or the beep only reply.

I then opened the country channel, typed   .resetv and then pressed Enter.......and....was instantly connected to VOX.  It worked the first time for me.  :aok   There were several messages that I did not record that reset it.  The text buffer was moving too fast for me, but it looked like 3 seperate messages.
Anyway, I am pleased that this first test was perfect!  WTG HTC!

You might start by giving some history....was vox working before?  Were you in a dogfight?  Did you dump and relog?  Did you try the .resetv command more than once, and what messages did it give you?  Try and recall what happened.
Hope that helps.

Ok, vox worked for about 45 minutes while in flight with about 20 on squad channel and others on range. Tried the .resetv to no avail. Even with fewer on server with a dump, no dice.

Ok well maybe there is something to that info you posted K-Ken.
You say your headset is usb connected and the resetv works for you. I wish mine was the same then.
I  use a old labtec am-232 shirt clip mic that came with a packard bell computer many moons ago. And a set of coby digital headphones from Wal-Mart for sound.
So my mic plugs into the back of my SB audigy 2 card and every ttime I loose vox none of the 3 reset v options will work for me. I always have to relog.
I wonder if there is any type of patern on who it works for and who it doesn't.

VOX reset get me no results.

I'm using SB LIVE with speakers, headphone/mic plugged into it.

I asked how others fared on country channel and got 10 answers that it didn't work for them also.

Straffo & I both had AH lockups yesterday while trying .resetv. Had to ALT F4 out, as the app was no longer responding. (Alt tab no workee either)

We've had trouble with Vox on the map loaded yesterday, no trouble before that since the last version.
