Long delay? :-) They found an unexploded "Cookie" in Hamburg harbour some 55 years after the drop!
While it's a routine affair to dig up a few WW2 bombs in any major construction effort in Hamburg, the Cookie was a bit out of the ordinary, requiring evacuation of large areas of the city for defusing, including parts of Wilhelmsburg and St. Pauli. Even some ships were towed out of the harbour.
The explosives expert was rather cool about it, though - "With bombs, if something goes wrong, I'm dead anyway ... size doesn't matter!"
(He survived :-)
