Tne only reason is this, it kills events.   The perk award became it's own event.

I don't think it happens enough or is enough points for it to really change anything.

Events = toolshed killing.

No events = a good thing.

Perkz-Smerkz.
  If you play the game at all you will have more perks that you could possibly ever use.

Actually judging by comments made by a majority of players in the past around reset time, those perks do matter a lot to the toolshed war mongers.  I figgure it's because it's the ony way most of them ever see any perks lol.  If they'd just get out of their la7s or stop augering on their first run at a FH they might just get a couple perks and not need those reset points.

While there may be some people who actually look upon the 75 perks as the Holy Grail, that is rarely, if ever, what drives the quest for a reset. The people I know who love the rush for a reset have enough perks to last a lifetime.

I sometimes find myself actually in the mood to fly all night in hopes of a reset, but it has nothing to do with perks. I rarely fly perk birds but I have enough points to keep myself in 152's and perk Hogs for a long time, if I actually wanted to fly them often. It's more the fun of flying in a semi organized mission and seeing a group of 20 or so planes working together. Just as often I want to go fight and could care less about taking real estate. I still fly attack mode then as well, I enjoy trying to put ordinance on a target and succeeding in both hitting the target and surviving.

All that being said, removing the perk award would have about as much effect on the real estate takers as an eyedropper of water would have on a forest fire.
