Sound problem(s)
« on: February 06, 2005, 04:28:31 PM »
I find that with some planes (f4f, typhoon. and several others) I get NO gun sounds although I can see the flashes and feel the vibration on my MS FF2 joystick.
On other planes (P38J, C205 and others I get full gun sounds.
I also notice that on some planes I can not hear the gear and/or flap sounds.
I have checked all the above *.wav sounds with recorder and the sounds are there and work well(in the sounds folder)
I have turned the sounds to 100% in setup

:confused:

Skuzzy;
 I replied via e-mail several days ago, but just in case you didn't get it:
My sound "card" is built in to my Asus P5GD2-premium Rev 1.xx mother board and is called a "C-Media High Definition Audio device"
I suspect you are on the right track because my desktop Microphone works, but with very low volume and it will not allow me to use the Microphone boost. As a result I have had to go to a usb mic to get reasonable results, as the usb mic requires no driver.

FYI:  The C-Media sound chip was probably one of the worst sound chips ever unleashed on the unsuspecting masses.  The drivers were abysmal.  Prone to causing crashes, lost soounds, system hangs and a plethora of other problems.
I think they went under, and/or got bought.

aka, get a PCI (Are there AGP sound cards?) card and slap it in there; disable the C-Media.

Thanks Skuzzy;
Just what I wanted to hear, LOL
Actually I pretty much figured that out, but you must have scared the Dam thing because tonight when I went on I heard sounds that have never happened before (guns, gear etc).
I have put a new sound card on my want list.
