I agree, the SB is a family event. I still think U2 was the best, but Paul was good, didn't think he had it in him, was a pleasant surprise.

I bet AC/DC would still put on a good show. Or maybe see if you could get Daltry and Townsend to get together one more time. I'd suggest the Stones, but its to the point where Mick looks as scary as Keith and seeing them on stage would freak too many people out.

when i was thinking of bands i'd like to see play halftime, ac/dc was up there. i once saw an nfl hits highlight reel somewhere on the net of the hardest hits with 'thunderstruck' as the background music and it was perfect

i bet gnr would be pretty good too, now that i think of it

of course thanks to janet mcnipples we won't see anything above G rated for a few years. they wouldn't let old metal bands play because im sure the critics would say they promote satanism or some crap.

Nuke, you should look for Paul McCartney's "Back in the U.S." DVD. The feel and performances are similar.

I liked the drummer in the halftime show - he was having a blast.
Obviously "Live and let die" had some prerecorded tracks with the synced fireworks, but the vocals seemed live.

I wonder what Vince Lombardi would think of what the Superbowl has become?

It's amazing to think that he and Lennon were just 21 year-old kids when they wrote so many great songs. And they were doing it long before the first Super Bowl.

I remember the first Super Bowl and I remember hearing the Beatles for the first time on radio in 1963, but I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday... :(

Ahhh missed that part
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty

His voice just sounded..too young.

He was in mid tour when those were made.  You sing every night for a year and guess how your voice will sound.

His voice was rested for the show.

I saw McCartney before I deployed to the Persian Gulf a couple of years ago, best money I ever spent.

I am sure that Paul probably doesn't know a thing about American Football but then again neither did Janet Jackson.

From what I've heard, I think they're going to tour again after they release their new album sometime this year.

Aerosmith was one of the best halftime shows I've ever seen.  But, then again, I rarely ever watch the superbowl.
