Here is the historical background of the event, "Lucky 13":
March 1942
The war on the eastern front is reaching its peak.
Pinned down by Hitler, Stalin is desperately equipping
his army. Before the massive Soviet industry machine
has reached full speed, Stalin is dependant on the
lend and lease -supplies from the Allied countries.
Most of the help is coming from the US, and the easiest
way is to ship the supplies over the Atlantic. The first
ship convoy started its journey on Aug 21st 1941 and
arrived safely at its destination 10 days later. So far
the Germans haven't noticed the supply convoys.
Currently "PQ13" is a few hundred miles outside Murmansk.
