You know Storch, Jesus Christ was the original liberal. He came with a message of hope and love for the common man. He spoke out against wealth and greed. He shook up the establishment and changed the world.

He spoke volumes on money, never against wealth but on where your heart is. some of the greediest and most materialistic people I know are also dirt poor. Don't compare yourself with the historical Jesus you pinheads are nothing like him

Sure they are, Storch. Coveting where that next meal is coming from, or next month's rent, or medicine for one of the kids? Those greedy, shameless bastages!

I wasn't comparing myself to Christ. I was reminding you that Christ was a liberal - something you may not have thought about that way before. It was also meant as a gentle reminder that children of God needn't be so vicious to other people.

Coveting a meal Errr no not quite. How about beating the crap out of a teenager for bumping the early '90s batmobile. The fact is that money is a medium of exchange for some and for others it's a lifelong long quest at the lottery ticket line. People who can't live within their means at $6000.00 dollars a year will never get beyond that. It's about spending less than what you have coming in, that would be at any income level .

I have little sympathy for "the homeless" because of where I grew up and because of what I see daily around my warehouse. It's about choices, some people spend a lifetime making stupid ones. I hold liberals who think "social programs" is what these people need in contempt. What those people need is a good kick in the arse when they're falling down drunk by noon. Spare me your liberal sensibilities I live in the real world. I'll tell you what why don't you come down to Miami and ask the bums if they would like to move to Minnesota, I'll donate for the bus fare.

I seem to notice that all the biggest flaming liberals get all wet talking about PBS While all the conservatives think it is well done artsy, leftwing BS.

Yet... when I say it is way left of center I am told by the lefties that it is fair and balanced. Fox is more fair and balanced.

I apologize if I came off as self-serving and arrogant -- it was never my intent. Arrogance bothers me alot. I occasionally get tired of all the attacks on liberals and Storch's post set me off. Perhaps you see the arrogance as well in a post that simply says "pinhead liberals"? But I guarantee both you and Storch are assuming incorrectly about my politics.

I've been thinking alot lately about the differences between liberals and conservatives, since I don't think I fit into either camp very well. I do think Christ was liberal (i.e. one tolerant of change; not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or tradition). And when I think about his teachings on how we should treat the poor, our enemies, and his attitude towards wealth it is clear to me that he had that in common with liberals. Do you agree?

Your definition of liberal probably focuses on crusaders for gay rights, gun control, abortion and high taxes and yes its hard to imagine Christ having anything to do with these positions.
