PING numbers
« on: February 12, 2005, 04:18:42 PM »
Just a general question. Is it better to have low ping #'s or higher?    I used to have 31 or 32 for a ping last month. Now I am seeing over 100 and it bounces back and forth.  I usually wait till it hits 78 and then click on the MA to connect.

I don't have any packet loss so that is good.  #'s sent match #'s recieved.

I added Zone Alarm recently to my ever growing arsenal of spyware/maleware/antivirus/firewall protection.   I DO NOT have any of that stuff running in the background.

Usually I bring up task manager and shut down everything I am able to without shutting my system down.   I am usually at 25 running processes.

I am running the game pretty good for an older system. I have no complaints just curious about the ping #'s.

The higher the ping the more time the data packet is taking to run around the internet.

So, lower is better.
