WOW. This is horrible news to hear.

I' will give you a call tomorrow Rod. I am just glad to hear that no one was hurt. A house is important, but nothing is more important than a family memeber.

Best of wishes Rod. Talk to you soon

Hello

Hotel is letting me use one of thier computers. Well what can I say, The photo's I'll post later will show cause of fire. My wife Purchased this house while  While I was in hospital because it was handicapped equip.  About 15 years ago they put a family room addition on with fireplace, Contractor install bick wall floor to  roof, Well behind this wall and outside wall. He installed the fireplace. All He used to install and hold fireplace in place was 2x4's untreated and no barrier or spaceing. Fire chief's report Said in big fat letters " This is criminal" Our house was on fire for estimated time of 2 to 3 hrs behind walls before we even knew it. We were Really lucky, Wife and I were up watching the movie RAY and getting ready for trip to Chicago. all of a sudden smoke was coming into room from top of brick wall. I felt the top and burnt my hand ran to phone called 911 all of us got out with no problems and except for freezeing a little and some smoke all in good health. vol fireman was at home in 1 to 2 mins and trucks 3 to 5 mins responce. They saved home all but addition, But 90 contents were destoryed by smoke and water. But we Are really lucky Are ins. company cut us checks and put us up in honeymoon suites Thursday morning just hours after fire. And Like everyone says "once your out safely all is down hill" .

so we are doing okay a little depressed about our personal items. but Really glad to see how many great nieghbors and friends we really have.

I'll miss being in arena for awhile. But need to take a break and get house rebuilt.

I'll post photo's of fireplace and I'll bet some of you will be in crawl spaces double checking. I know I'll never have Fireplace again unless gas............

 Rod367th out.
