I predict a significant increase in odometer failures.

Just what are they going to do with non state resident owned cars?

It will be relitivly easy with RFID technology. A chip can be attached to a window sticker that will communicate a unique registration ID when the GPS information is collected. Your chip is then tracked for changes in its global postion. When you pull up to the gas station a scanner queries your chip for it's ID and then checks with the central database.

Lottsa room for abuse by hackers in the same way they can hijack cell phones. Capture the ID and scanning frequency, then feed the satilight bogus positioning data. California will probably deal with out of state cars by leveling a much higher gas tax then is being levied currently against a car that the scanner cannot read a chip from.

Also the state of california will know the location of all vehicals. Which means big brother will know where you are.....good scheam. California has been rating about 47 on the list of 48 for good roads in the U.S. Arkansas is 48. This has been been consistant for the last 20-25 years. I wonder where all the money goes????? A good deal of it to State government workers Unions.

paying at gas station, won't work out that well.

only way they can tax all vehicles by mile is at inspection stations.

electrics and propane fueled don't have to stop by a gas station. not to mention the ones that fill up at home, from the 100-800 plus gallon tanks, that get fuel delivered by truck.

might be a while before the politicians figure this out. so I guess some will get to drive around with out paying taxes.

and like someone said lotta odometers gonna fail.

I can't imagine even the liberal tree huggers being happy with big brother having a location fix on em at all times.... migtht put a crimp on driving over to their dealers house.
