I just installed the new Aces High update to patch 3, and am now seeing video issues.
1) Normally I have selected the "preload all in video" box. I normally see evidence of this preload when first entering the game, via the "control I" text, 3rd line, which says something like "Vidmem xxx, Used yyy, Ct zz". "Ct" is seen to decrement down to 0, and "Used" increases up to a maximum of something around 190 or so. This used to occur only once.
2) After installing the latest patch (2 plus 3), I see this preload indication occurring frequently during flight, and in the tower, which results in constant white areas in the cockpit and terrain, and frequently freezes the screen for multiple seconds. Also, my framerate varies wildly (75- 15) when this is occuring. Game is of course unplayable.
3) When I unselect the "preload all in video" box, the constant preloading stops, and no white areas are seen (much better). However, the frame rate still seems to vary a lot; for example, when in the hanger, my normal framerate of 75 drops to 30s if the clipboard is brought up.
4) I do not use "Track IR", and the symptoms above seem to be different from the other 2 video threads.
Any ideas, HTC? Hoping you guys can help with this,
MH

Further edits:
After further trial-and-error, I think this issue is/was related to the way skins are currently disabled online, which negatively interacted in some manner with my "preload video memory" settings.
I unchecked and rechecked the preload video memory boxes (2 in startup screen and 1 in-game), and can no longer duplicate this problem, so put it on hold.
