I do like the A-20, but the Sturmovik is a more reliable plane. It's less susceptible to damage, and pilot wounds are extremely rare.

It also turns on a dime, and with flaps on, it can almost turn with a Wildcat. This scares the hell out of a lot of people in low-alt furballs. If you're good in an Il-2, and you have a good rear gunner, you're gonna bring a lot of kills home. I can't say the same for the A-20, because a good stream of .50's will tear a wing off, whereas said stream of .50's might damage a flap on the Sturmovik.

Seagoon,

That isn't really the same thing at all though.  In your case you attacked three wounded bombers.  Their structural "hit points" had been heavily reduced by the other fighters to the point where they did more damage than you.  What Pongo is talking about is straffing a tank and doing no damage (AH tanks don't use the "hit point" system, but rather an armor penetration system) and still getting a kill that the 110G did not contribute to.  Those other fighters at least weakened the B-24s for you.

The 110's do this because of damage.  Their gun package is putting more "Damage Points" on the target, but not registering any critical hits.

I think that only damage that hurts should be counted.
