Plane Cache
« on: February 20, 2005, 04:54:17 PM »
I logged on last night and got a plane cache loading message, this is only done one time, don't minimize what ever...
anyway, everytime the download gets to the P38L it hangs up, my machine totally freezes and I have to reboot. I've tried to log on many times this afternoon and the same thing happens, I get to the P38L download and freeze up city.  Any suggestions?

If it "successfully cached" and you can get to the clipboard now, delete your "cache" folder in the AHII directory and let it re-cache all the planes.

If it's freezing upon trying to do the first cache, reinstall the game fresh.

The plane cache window comes up as soon as I login, before the menu to select an arena. So I am not getting into the game or the clipboard.

I shouldn't have an initial cache because I play all the time (since 1999 in fact)  and didn't just download AH.

I'm on dial up, I don't want to download the whole game, we just had a massive update a few weeks ago and that was bad enough. I will if I have to but it sure would be nice if some brainiac would figure out a way that I wouldn't have to.

Thanks,

AKwoody

Have you tried deleting the cache folder from within the aces high directory ?

Everytime i had a cache error its worked for me.

Great!
I deleted the P38s plane cache, logged onto the game and the plane caches loaded just fine, I'm back in the game! Thanks everyone
