Anyone who uses this know how to download newest threads/headers first?  also what reader do you use.  It takes way to long to D/L 100,000 * new headers when what I want is one of the last ones.

any help or ideas would be helpfull.

Hmmm... it's been a long time since I frequented UseNet.

From what I hear, it's dying anyway.

I may be ignorant on the subject but I am a Newscene subscriber and its not dying at all its thriving pretty good.  My problem is I'll see something on a search site that I want in a group but the group has half a million threads that I don't feel like downloading.  Just wondering if there were any subject matter experts.

Suave....I got back yesturday......drove a measly 1300 miles in two days....BUT it was in a borrowed Tiberon.....a very uncomfortable car to drive or ride.

Back to being a worker bee for me.....at least I will be an inspector soon....wich really means nothing cept I'll be inspecting more and working less but working none the less.

Xnews is a little buggy but works great.

Takes me about 20 min to load up very busy newsgroups.

To download/decode files, just select files you want and hit F4.

P.S. having a dedicated usenet provider make everything so much faster and easier.

I've used newsbin and currently I use giganews as my reader.  I just dont see the point in Downloading 500,000 threads to get the newest ones.  There's gotta be a reader out there that will download the newest ones first.

JB73 getting ALL the files is the key.  after that just use WinRar or something simular to unpack them.  There's another program that's almost an essential and that's QuickPAR2 or WinPar2.  It will check all the chunks to make sure they are complete and even repair broken ones.
