What is it about digging your hands in dirt and manure that makes you feel so clean?

two weeks ago, i planted grass in a part of my yard that was bereft of any life.  (possibly due to hurricane IVAN and the flooding, but it was bad before that)

each morning, i pet my new grass.

it is just coming out of its teenage fuzzy mustache stage and blooming into a soft green pelt of heaven.

ryegrass.

ill have to plant another varietal in the spring as they say that the ryegrass wont make it through a summer.

everytime that i look at it though, i smile.

joy.

Having somebody else do your gardening is like needing someone else to chew your food.

Some people might need such an arrangement but you shouldn't brag about it.

Gardens with flowers are ghey. My garden is sand. It's easy to take care of and unwanted visitors sink into it when it's raining.

I keep my grass green and my lawn mowed. Flowers grow in the planters and palm trees sway in the breeze.

I do my own.... just never enjoyed it.

Never really found much to admire about yard nazis either.
