OK, I'll give it another try. What days and times can the true blue CT'ers generally around? My system is dinged right now and I cant fly till tech support sends me a new card, but I will check things out when I'm able to up again.

And Storch, just because you've heard it before and you dont like it doesnt make it a whine. My experience as an interested explorer was real -- and was negative over a period of several weeks. Seeing stuff like enemies ignoring my fighter while they  go about capturing every base on the map, and so on, just disillusioned me. If that negative experience has been seen often enough that many people try the CT and leave, does that mean we "whine" or that the CT has a PR problem?

Like OM said. Spend a little more time then decide. You may still think it sucks but maybe not. Try tues and thurs nights starting around 8pm EST. Thursday nights usually have the biggest crowds  With the current set you may have 30+ on any given night.

Well, let me clarify since that wasn't some kind of CT whine.  I'm not mad at the CT for some gameplay reason or because it's "not like the MA" or because it's "too much like the MA" or whatever.  I've thoroughly enjoyed playing there.  But when you consider that I usually don't get online until around midnight EST, the CT is routinely empty.  Not just somewhat empty, but totally and completely empty.  I was pleasantly surprised to find the CT active with Finn-Rus up, but the persistent invisible planes bug received about as much effort from me as I felt was justifiable.

It's not about liking or disliking.  It's a simple fact.  MA players bring MA mindset and MA values into the CT.  Other MA players see that and say "WTF this is the same but only with a buttsuck plane set" and *poof* they're gone.  I just logged from the CT where some well intentioned MA players did us all a "favor" by knocking out the allied HQ.  Standard practice in the MA however it  kinda blows the game in the CT for most of the players.  fortunately most everyone stayed and continued playing on.  there were some very good fights on at the time which might have had something to do with it.  I personally could care less as I feel that radar and icons have no place in this type of game and neither does the moving map.  Other players are easily upset by stuff like that.  If you try to explain to the players that those actions are considered a no no you leave yourself open to a response of "it's my $14.95 you jerk" which is also exactly correct.  So therein lies the rub, on the one hand you have people that are looking for a "break" from the MA same ol' same ol' but they don't stop to consider the unspoken standards in another arena.  What is a player supposed to do?  Personally I wouldn't like the CT with 200 players.  It would be way too hectic. Some of my most memorable fights have been when there are about 6 players on.  In time if you fly one side or the other the different sounds that the airplanes make clue you as to if its an enemy or not adding another dimension to the game that is not applicable in the MA or anywhere else in AH.  50 players is too many in the CT as for myself I hope it remains at the attendance levels we are currently seeing.  Perhaps it would be best left as it is.  Don't come, stay in the MA.  :D

Let me put out an alternative proposal, mentioned by storch, too.

Having lots of people in the arena can be a fun thing.  But it isn't everything, and for some of us, it isn't even close to being the most important thing.  Good fights, good cameraderie, discovering nuances in a plane set, an enjoyable evening, can be worth the extra time it takes to find an opponent or two.

I suggest you come in during the times that there aren't a lot of people there.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are the busiest nights, and we're glad that squads are coming back and filling out the numbers and attracting new blood.  But stop in on a Sunday night, or Monday or Wednesday (usually starting around 10pm Eastern time).  You may not find more that four or five people there, but they're the cadre, usually.  You can get to know people that way, make friends, learn different flying styles, check out different types of airplanes and see how they work against other types (don't mention my G6 v. Storch's A-20 battle, please).  If you find it boring, come in on the busier nights, see what you think then.

But stop in on a Sunday night, or Monday or Wednesday

Yep. Some of the best times Ive had have been on saturday or sunday afternoons. You see a few guys in there and pop in. With in 10 minutes the place fills up with 15-20 guys and its a blast.

I didnt take it as a whine at all. I didnt word my respose very well either. Wasnt intending to come across as an ass. My whole point really was I didnt want see one of the best pilots in AH not drop in anymore.
