You were weatching the Mil channel tonight, I saw that too.
He also shot down a 262 that was about to land, saying "It wasn't very sportsmen like, but oh well"
As a side note: He was a 21 year old "fighter ace" after downing 3 German planes in one fight.
After being shot down over France he spent 6 weeks dodging Nazis before he finally made it to Spain with the help of the French underground.
Upon returning to his unit he was told he would never fly in combat again, his knowledge of the underground made it too risky for him to be captured.
He refused to go home and appealed directly to the commanding general and was eventually sent back into combat.
After all his missions, in total, he encounterd German planes five times.
