Even after all the hype I am still impressed.  The 'Ring, Laguna Seca, Sears Point, those alone make it worth the price.  Here's some shots of my garage so far.

HIGHWAY STAR

Dinger will remember this one.

The graphics are amazing. Too bad it lacks the realism that would make this game an absolute winner. No damage modeling, arcade physics etc. I'm really tempted to get it but it's questionable if I'd ever bother to actually play it.

Actually the physics are very good in 4 if you turn off all the driving aids.

I saw a game review that complained about the physics. They compared GT4 to the new MS racer which name I can't recall now.

If a demo gets out I must try it.

well they went the route of modelling 700 something cars instead of damage models, which is fine for me.

i'll say right now that my car in game handles (and more importantly) brakes very similar to my actual rx7..

I love it so far...

I bought an old used Acura NSX.. I love that car.

Bought an 86 RX7, I hate that car, it sucks.

Bought a 2005 Mustang GT, it is nice but not as good as the NSX is...

Won a Chevelle, dropped an assload of money into it and it still sucks... that pisses me off.  It is faster than hell, but it can't turn at all.  Not even a little bit.

No.  PS 2 only.  Have to wait until 9 March, then I can knock out some dry training on the ring.  Guardrails there can be expensive.

Yep, beer and brats at the ring  http://members.home.nl/schillings/AF.wmv

GTO I pre-ordered it from gogamer.com.  But I'm hearing lots of people having success just going to stores and finding it.  They had confidence enough to ship a crapload of them.

Also regarding realism, remember I am using the Driving Force Pro wheel.  If you are using a gamepad or a lesser wheel, the game has to dumb down the steering to make it playable.  With the DFP and all the driving aids turned off, the cars handle much as one would expect.

No.  Sony does this to make sure you buy a PS2.  I know a lot of people (self included) who bought a PS2 just to play the GT series.

It is now in WA, so I will be buying another for this game lol.

I loved 2, the 60s cars were a blast.

this looks even better.

Funked, How do your steering wheel work? DOes it clamp to a table or can you use it from a chair or bean bag?
