To all that have killed me like a dweeb this past week
« on: February 28, 2005, 12:56:19 PM »
FINALLY got my hands on a M.S. sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick just like i've used for the past 5years and recently broke.  Can't WAIT to throw this piece o' crud Saitek I bought as a replacment in the trash.  (or try and return to Circuit City, either or)

The Saitek is ok, but it's just not the same.  I've flown with 2 joysticks over the past 9yrs, both M.S. Sidewinders, and ya' know the whole thing 'bout old dogs and new tricks is spot on!

So if you've killed me this past week as i've struggled with the stupid new stick, enjoy the easy kill.  In @ 3 days I will be back to my former, Uber Dweeb self, and ready to fight.

Gawd, i'm almost giddy over this.  (Durn you HT! This game is worse that smokin' Crack)

Hmmmm Got to figure a way to shoot a thousand volts of electicity through the net into your MS stick so you have to go back to the saitek....Nothing personal, I'm just thinking of the morale of your enemies is all....LOL   :D

Hope this stick last as long as your old one did. I know how ya feel about trying to learn with a new stick. I just got an X52, dang thing drove me nutz so I went back to the X45 where I feel more comfortable. Ofcourse nothing will make me fly better, but atleast I can die knowing I like the X45 stick better...LOL

I know what you mean Lute.  I've used a MS Sidewinder Precision 2 for a good 6-7 years now and I wouldn't even THINK of getting a different kind of stick!

WMLute & United:  Today's my 1st day in using the MS Sidewinder
Precision Pro Joystick, HOW do u use it, what's the setup, what's
the stick.cfg that u use, How do u use the "Twisty' (rudders).

It seems that so far it's lousing up my shots, can barely hit anything without seemingly twisting the "Twisty", How is it possible to avoid doing that.

Ur kind assistance in this matter is gratefully appreciated .. TY.

Regards,

Happy1  :D

happy:

add a tiny bit of deadband and damper to the rudder scale in the AH2 ingame menu.

should eliminate the rudder shakes when shooting.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Too bad MS isn't still making FF2s.  They're a step up from the PP2, imo.  More precision, better control, throttle feels less like cheap plastic.  Rubberized grip, heavier base, return-to-center tension, etc etc

I debated going the FF2 route.  I finally decided that I would stick with what i've been using for so many years.  Buying a used FF2 on ebay concerned me w/ all the xtra "Stuff" on 'em.

If you'd started your career with a CH Products stick, you wouldn't have that problem.

You fight in a N1K2 at ALT, and NEVER risk getting shot down. Anyone that E fights in a niki is a bore. You use CT and loft above every fighter you see.

I just don't see how a stick will change that. Alt monkey in a good T'N'B plane.

Just saying.

Creamo i don,t know if you know this:

just about all the planes in this game fly better above 10-K.

If you weren,t down on the deck like a Baby Seal,
you might find that out.

I have not been able to find a stick that has the same feel as my MS PP2.  It has been my stick for the last 7 years.  I am on my second one for about 4 years now.

The first one wasn't able to take the force of repeatedly bouncing off of a wall :(

So as much as I hated to, I stopped throwing joysticks at the wall (cheap plastic junk).  My cat has also stopped coming near me when I play at the computer .  I have found that plastic coffee cups have a fairly high survival rate, but they somehow don't have the same therapeutic value as a joy stick or a cat :(

I guess I better get my butt over to E Bay, and buy a few before they are all gone.
