Yup, pretty much illustrates my point. Tirpitz was hard to sink and it was at anchor. Repulse and Prince of Wales were sunk mainly by the torpedoes, any level bomb hits were after they were dead in the water, even then they were not the fatal blows.

I believe smoke screen virtually ineffective against aircrafts.
With reference to Prince of Wales and Repulse, there are no smoke screens, if my book is correct.

i guess no one remebers when the cv was a  AAA wagon till it went down ,at least it takes damage as u hit it

Not sure how much good AP bombs would do. Iirc only the Brits had armored flight decks on their cv's. Japanese and American carriers had wooden flight decks. Dont need AP bombs to penetrate wooden flight decks imo :)

The cruisers die very easily with the HE bombs we have now.
