How long has your direct line been in America?
« on: February 28, 2005, 03:31:20 PM »
Just a thread to promote some geneological interest.

My direct line came to the U.S. from Ireland in the 1770s. I am the six generation to be born in the U.S.

Sounds good to me Aubrey. Canada's settlement is a lot like the U.S.'s. Any country is free to give their ancestry in this thread if they'd like.

1981. Before that, we were Mother Russian Jews. Now we rule the world, or, at least several thousand square feet of it.

Uh... I think I'm 2nd generation.  Not sure how that qualifies.

Mother's side in 1950 from Bavaria (Waldenberg).  Aunt was first born in Germany, mother was born in the states.

Father's side in... early 1900s, possibly 1920s from Moravia I think.  Grandfather of that side born in the states.  Supposedly have blue blood and related to the first el presidente of Czechoslovakia post WWI. :)

After that, I'm a mutt.  German, Czechoslovak, Scottish, Irish, Norwegian, etc...  Probably asian, african, antarctican, blah blah blah, too.
