X52 questions
« on: February 28, 2005, 05:24:42 PM »
For anyone else with and X52...........

1)Can AH "see" your Rotary 2 (thats the big rotary on the throttle)

With respect to this can you confirm if you have pedals (with/without toe brakes) as well as the x52.

2)In the control panel for the x52 do you get full scale deflection for the js in both x and y axis?

Thanks

If you set up the X52 rotary to be an analog input, AH should see it.  It all depends on how you program it.  If you don't load a program, it may or may not detect it.  I just don't know.  I know that if I don't program my x36, AH sees all the analog parts as analog inputs, but I usually program them as digital keypressers so then AH doesn't see them.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

X52 sees both rotaries as joystick axis, the slider too.

If you are not getting full defelction...return it...its defective.

Thanks..........I think its going back.

The throttle hat is porked (it cant see any left movement)

and the js will not give FSD to the right in the control panel.

Further playing with the stick whilst in control panel there seems to be a significant dead zone even when the dead zone is set to minimum.

Whilst Rotary 2 is fully functional in windows control panel AH cannot see it. It does not appear in the AH "select joystick" window at all.

All other analogs on the X52 and my pedals appear correctly.

Total analogs including the main POV (which gives analog numeric values) number 10 (3 from pedals, 7 from x52) if recognised rotary 2 would be the 11th.

1) I have X52, and can see both rotaries. I have 3 USB controllers; X52, Logitech wheel and a joypad. I'm using the pedals from the wheel with AH.
2) I get full scale. If you don't, it's probably a failure in the stick.

I have CH Pro peddals (thanks 2003 con:D )....I also have a nostromo pad....because they are all USB, any program that can recognize seperate controlers is fine (al la Aces High).

Some older games that do NOT allow multiple controls will not let you use the rudders...but all current sims worth a crap are fine (IE: All the IL2 games etc)

All I can say as of today is that its gone back to Saitek who have promiced a fix or a new stick by the end of next week.

Meanwhile a really old MS sidewinder  sits before me.

Then is it accurate to say, 'you like the stick, if it would only work'?
