Killing Tigers Training
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:35:23 AM »
Lately alot of people are complaining that it is too HARD to kill a tiger.

Starting this Weds. at 8:30 Eastern time in the DA,myself and some other tanker types will be conducting a training session on killing tigers.

From far away to up close and personal.

We will be using Vehicle base V-37 and V-38,spawning into the city.

It's a chance for people to shoot at me,HaHa!

After testing the theory that a T-34 will not kill a tiger;
It turned out to be true.

It can only track the tiger, that is why we are using Panzers only.

totaly true....same can be said for flaks.

ive resorted to the "lameness" of bombing flaks/tigers with 14x1000lbs from lancasters and STILL not killed them. yet my tiger/flak seems to get damaged from 0.50cal/20mm with ease....wtf?! ;)

this thread was to let people who lack the skills to kill a tiger tank
that they could come in the DA Weds. to practice.

I hate  drivin to a base with some pilot's ya hardly know, and some one calls out theres a tiger and they disappear like roachez when the light is turned on.

Maybe, just maybe this can be a learning experience for most average players who don,t GV that often because they can,t figure it out.

Or they don,t like to drive for hours and then get shot once.

I miss the Uber GV missions in AH1,1 min. it's clear,the next there's 30-40 GV's rollin over a base.

And whatever Happened to ROCKSTARR?
He always had the best missions.

No disrespect intended, but that is an absolutely untrue statement. It may be true at a distance, but a well placed round from a T-34 on spawn campers is a 1 shot, 1 kill scenario. I have done it many, many times on tigers, but it has to be placed just left of the turret (from the tiger looking out at you).

Kudos for the vehicle training. Great idea.

Would love it if you would stop by and demonstrate this hidden art.

After firing 40 shots at all points on the reaer end.

40 shots on the frontal and turrent area, still no kill.

I myself didn,t think it was impossible, but it is seeming that way.

Man.

I remember in like 2001, I was crusing in a Pony, I looked down there must have been 40+ rolling on a friendly base.

You couldnt penetrate the Fire.

Those were the days :D
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Not to piss in anybody's wheaties here but, most of the Tiger killing problems are from lag, glitch, bug whatever you want to call it. Basicly I've seen 1 tiger take on countless other tigers and panzers and take no damage. I have shot  these "super" tigers from 400 to 2k in all the right spots. From my gaming experience most tigers are killed from the side or rear. Frontally I've only been able to bust the turret, then a shot to the lower plate below the driver may cause it to blow up but not consistantly. For a camped tiger I usually "if he's close" spawn multiple panzers and pop his turret. I have never seen or did myself kill or even damage a tiger with a t34, m8 or osti. Even though I have had ack tear me up in a tiger. That, I don't quite figure out how anti- aircraft gun on a field that is suppose to be shooting air burst rounds disables tigers, panzers and t34 like it was nothing but, ostwinds have a difficult time. The idea that a M16 could kill any of these is just insane.

i WAS INT HE DA the other night with a Tiger Versus Pazner bout. And I was in the tiger. Anyways. I was out turning the other guys turret like he was a -newb.

Tigers are l33t and can't be killed unless you are very acrurate with the shots and put one right in the drivers peep hole and kill the driver.

Yep.

Hehe..you got me questioning myself now :)

Because of lag, I always spawn a T-34 on campers because I can get the turret around before they can see me. I have never failed to kill a tiger camper. Not all are one shot, but its always a kill  if the shot does not bounce off. I'll film it for sure next time.

I really like all the feedback everyone.

This thread was started to tell everyone that if they want to
practice killing tigers ,that myself and others were going to
be practicing in the DA tonight and if anyone else was having problems they should stop in a join us for some learning and some fun.

But really,i,m shocked on the feed back, most people won,t tell anyone anything.

Don't think it's so much that they are unkillable, or any GV for that matter.
It's the total incosistency of the GV damage model.
A few examples -

1) I can kill GVs in a Tiger from over 5000yds, yet bounce rounds off an M3 at <600. ( BTW the longest EVER kill tank to tank was a little over 3km in the 91 Gulf War, a Challenger tank on a T62. Which means our tanks are actually BETTER than todays best state of the art ones).

2) Killed a Tiger with an osty.

3) Had my Tiger killed by a de-turreted Panzer using the bebe gun.

4) Seen a Tiger killed by an M16.

5) Put rounds into a Tigers side with a Panzer at point blank range and got nada, other times a kill.

I urge everyone to start filming their GV fights as I have mentioned these things to HTC and they say they want films as they can't reproduce them.
