Invite screen

Is there anyway to make the screen that ask if you wish someone to join smaller and maybe up in a corner of the screen? I accidentally hit the join button on someone the other night as they was in a dogfight intending to hit the go to button. It's happened to me as well and as many of you know, if your in combat, it really puts you down and out. I just think it would help with new guys not knowing any better than to do it w/o asking 1st or on accident. This way you'd know it's there, but yet be able to fight if said person wasn't wanted and you could decline after the fight. Some might say it only takes 1 sec to click no, but a lot happens in 1 sec:) Thanks

yes, but you have to do it each time you login...

/.showjoin 0  (zero)  makes the invite hit the text buffer instead of a popup.  and to accept, you have to /.accept when you get an invite.

but like shane said you have to do it every time you log in , the screen should be much smaller and pop up in the lower corner of your screen.

They could put a option  in setup so you could choose, "to not ever accept a request to join".  Or leave it unchecked to except all request to join.  I think Even a little box poping up anywhere on your screen can be a Major distraction in the heat of the battle.

Even if they switched it so the pilot has to do the " request to join", instead of the person not flying at the time wanting to join you , putting in the request.  So they would have to text or vox you to ask.

Give the pilot the control over that.  :)

What about an option to select the .showjoin option as default. I think Shane was hinting at this. Then there'd be no need to do it each time you log on.

How about an options manager?

Kind of like a batch file like we'd set up in the old days to run several things on startup.

Give us a spot where we can select to run squelch list, .join, & other options on starting the game.

Call it what you like, but give us a button, which would pull up all available options. Along with a window where you can squelch at least 3 people on startup.

If your worried about a permanent squelch list make it limited to just 3.  Everybody should have the ability to ignore that many.

Considering that some people would maybe like a squelch list that would hold 300, three seems pretty minor.

Yeah, I think Shane nailed it. Just make it so you don't have to type .showjoin 0 everytime. Have it set to on or off until you change it back.

Or just change the pop up background to be transparent like the text buffer.
