Seriously, people flying through my plane looks really stupid on my films, and what better way to make everybody learn about friendly SA, and more importantly, stop people from gangbanging in turn fights and shoulder shooting in highly advantageous situations.

If the limit was set so it only took effect at around 200ft AGL*, then it should not effect takeoff/landing much short of teaching people not to fly like dolts.

I dont see any logical reason why the arena as a whole and any prospective subscribers couldnt learn very wuickly not to fly into friendly planes as well as enemy.


TOD would be a bit weak in immersion if we could all fly though ourselfs and killshooter is still on in my miniscule % opinion.

Please someone tell me why this wouldnt be good, i am very open to bad points as i cant realy think of any aside from the usual 'some idiot will ram you for fun' or 'four of us were on this one guy and we all crashed into each other trying to steal the kill off each other' etc etc.

if people abuse things like collisions and friendly fire surely they can be asked to shape up or be banned.

anyhow, I'll stop before my mind starts to leak onto the page in ernest...........its Night Time now here so i am going to bed.

i think it would be great for game play overall and new guys who come looking for a decent air combat sim wont be turned away by hordes of quite so many drones.

Great idea had it myself. But then i thought of little 14 year olds.... With there la7's.... And... and:(  the ramming~ OH GODD its burnsssssssss damn those little kids they would be running into you and shooting on purpose all the TIME *burst into tears*

Formation flying could become highly dangerous with friendly collisions enabled.      
Friendlies are updated less frequently than cons afaik- it's more important that the guy you are shooting at isn't warping.  I can't imagine it would be fun having a friendly you're winging with warp through you, blowing you up in the process.

spade i really dont think that would be an issue at all.

if people were spies they would be hunted by their own team.  remember .wingman command?

who cares if people spy, real war had spies in too, and they also got shot.

how about just killshooter off and night time please??

just a few days after the next patch or something.

How about setting the CT up with Realism set to max, wind, night, killshooter off, no icons......


why should all arenas be the same aside from who flies in them mostly?

maybe the balance would spread over CT and DA a bit more if things were different in each.

ok, everyone delete you replies please, I'll delete the whole thread if this has all been truly flogged to death.


i feel personally the game, naturally, lacks in a very few details more every time we get outstanding updates like recently.

These were just a few logical steps in the MA gameplay in my own personal world of AH therefore i felt it could be discussed or maybe even granted to us/me :D . Obviously i understand this opinion is part of such a large beast as to mean nothing more than the next troll.

1 problem.


Think about the whole "Ram" debate.  The whole HTC "2 worlds [TM] " theory of FEs.  Only makes flying ANYWHERE near a friendly a dangerous affair.

I never saw any friendly warp on my front end.
Oh wait.. once it did but that was a bug.

The reason is friendlys are updated not to warp, they are in a not so correct position but dont warp. Enemys are updated that they are in an as accurate position as possible... thats why they warp.

For the collision stuff that would mean you can easyly avoid friendlys and not run into them. But if another friendly tries to ram you it might not look like a collision on your front end. With the damage model i would take a guess that if the collision only takes on his front end only he gets the damage.

That means it would be worth a try. Especially enabling the 200ft above ground level is worth a thought.

In another game I play, if you have friendly fire enabled and are team killed, it allows you to choose:

a: be merciful (it was an honest accident)
b: file a complaint and kill them right away (some damn kid foolin around)
c: file a complaint and kill them next round (so your team is not disadvantaged 'till then)

I think something like this would work fine and allow both friendly fire and collisions to be turned on. Maybe change option c to a 10 minute time out.

I also think that the system should automatically flag high complaint counts and kick or ban the player after a reasonable number of complaints. The other game I play kicks on the 3rd complaint.

Yes there is still room for abuse, but on the whole, I think it's the best way to achieve a more realistic MA.

Leave it alone.  It would be more realistic but it will be abused just like everything else.

Just a thought ...lol

A few newby's (not all, of course), outa frustration at being killed every SINGLE FLIGHT!, have, in the past, just fired on, and killed (like my comas?) friendlies. Now you can go after them and vulch them in revenge (did ya know you don't get points for killing yer own? and if you've been raised on tomb raider they will up over and over and over and over and over (enuff with the overs?) because thats how they learned to play games) and that might take you all night. Or, we can have killshooter on (I personally don't like it) and we can get on with the killing of the real enemy, all those red guys!

Which would you prefer?
