Stick Scaling bitmaps for 45ACP....
« on: August 27, 2001, 09:27:00 PM »
Was working with 45ACP this evening and promised him and some others to post the stick scalling settings I use. Now keep in mind these aren't for everyone. Some prefer a much faster reacting stick than this, but I find it helps smooth out the flight. You may need to adjust deadband or damping a bit to suit your stick but try them as they are first. It will take some getting used to because they are very different from the default settings.

Enjoy  :)

Mark,
Pretty much how I run mine.. I was told back in beta....make the line in the bottom box look like a fishing line limp going into the water.  I have pics up at http://www.reddragons.de/aceshigh/tactical.htm
The help pages are getting outdated and I really need to update them bigtime but alot of the info is still useful  :)

I will note that many folks use all 100 for roll.  I don't find I have to scale my roll control much at all.

It's always great to see what somebody else is using for stick scalings, but remember that they need to be suited to your controls, the plane you fly, and your own preferences.  It's best to use something like this for a starting point, and then try adjusting from there to find something that suits you best.  :)

I also use 100% across the board on everything.  Same settings I have used in Warbirds over the years.

i'm sure your stick makes a difference as well. in other words, 3 different sticks should react differently when we use hblairs' setup for instance....all 100%.

i need a new stick...currently using MS Sidewinder Pro....my top hat is going kaput.

I made the switch from MS 3d Pro to prec pro about 3 months ago.

While not quite the same (prefered the 3nd pro's button setup) I adjusted quickly.

Rocket,
Thank you - and all other submitters - for posting screenshots of your joystick configs.  I experimented with my settings.  The more I tweeked, the worse my joystick's performance in AH was.  Then, I used your settings for Yaw, Roll, etc, and it has helped a lot.

So, thanks!   :)
