anybody else on C-PAP?

so let me get this straight....

its just a mask you wear. you dont have to have a surgery or anything right?

(if you're up to it, post a pic of you wearing the thing).

My dad snores like a mofo and wakes up a lot during the night. My mom says that she gets scared to death because sometimes he's snoring then he just stops breathing..then he kinda wakes up but not really and goes back to snoring.

Pretty much what the website says are the symptoms of apnea.

Itd be an awesome gift for my parents to 'cure' them of this pesky problem.

It's not something you can just buy as a gift.  It has to be calibrated to suit the patient, and if they calibrate it wrong it can make the problem worse in a big way.
Get his doctor to order him a sleep study (just tell him what you told us and he will do it), and if he's as bad as it sounds, he'll prescribe a CPAP, and your mom will love it.

He didn't get it fit right.  That started to happen to me and I changed to a different mask and was fine after that.

BTW, love the avatar.  Who is it?
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

Though I suppose I'm setting a bad precedence by posting that.
