Perfect Albums?
« on: March 04, 2005, 12:06:29 AM »
Hi all,

What to your mind are your favorite "perfect albums" - i.e. great albums, not compilations, without any rotten songs on them that you skip to the next track on.

Came up in a conversation this evening. A few of the ones that stood out in my mind where:

1) Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced
2) The Who: Who's Next
3) Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin IV
4) Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
5) Pink Floyd: The Wall
6) Peter Gabriel: Peter Gabriel 3
7) Lynyrd Skynyrd:  Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd

Here's one y'all have never heard of.  Absolute crafted perfection, without a single spoken/sung word:

Global Communications - "Pentamorous Metamorphosis"

Here's the Amazon page with samples: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000006C9U/104-3427883-2812726?v=glance
The samples are ok, but the song build on themselves as time passes, and turn into something incredible.
"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." - Sinclair Lewis
