The Great Air Race
« on: March 04, 2005, 07:17:41 AM »
The air race will run each week on Tuesdays in SEA Arena. The winner of the race would qualify for the end of month race and each monthly winner will qualify for the year end race (Championship). The event will start or the checkered flag goes off on Tuesdays at 10:00 est / 22:00 hrs. Here are the rules I have for now,

1- You must be a team of 2 (Pilot and Co pilot)
2- 1 pilot flys to the destanation while the co pilot is attached when they land succesfully the Co pilot must up and the pilot that just flew joins him for the ride back to the finish line.
3- The winner of the race picks the plane for the next week.
4- All Planes must carry 100% fuel.
5- Any shooting you are disqualifed
6- No belly landings
7- There will be a mission posted and you must follow the way points of the course. If you are not in the mission you will be disqualified.
8- friendly dot dar will be on to watch the planes on the  clip map if anyone tries to take a short cut it will be noticed and you will be disqualiafied

I'd like to get in on one of these races. Do we have to use a particular plane or would it be an anything goes setup?

Another quick question.
Is there any way to keep the sides and race against the other side? That would be way cool. Maybe you could make the course where the two sides would fly the same route for abit.

Guys what  A great response I ran this event last wednesday night as a snapshot and people loved it . The winner was BuLLZ. So he would pick the plane for this tuesday coming up.
Meet in the SEA Arena between 9:30 and 10:00 est checker flag waves at 10:05 and make sure you bring a good copilot.
This new and I am going to try and make this work I think it would be fun. 1 Race a week. last week of the month we run 2 races 1st race for race winner and the 2nd would be the 4 winners of the 4 weeks for the monthly winner, and with all the monthly winners will qulify for the Championship Race at the end of the year.

There will be a misson posted  with course to follow and no shooting pure raceing all pilot skill.

So get your teams ready for the 1st Annual Aces High Air Race!!!!!!

i hosted a weekly air race in h2h a while ago, was pretty fun, i think one of the keys to making it enjoyable is having the host in gods eye view doing live announcements with vox updating everyone on the state of the race like they do in real air racing.

i prefer the 1930s style radio announcer voice :)
