Roads for Fields
« on: March 04, 2005, 11:47:59 AM »
In the TE Roads Tab, the Create All button makes roads that end at the fields instead of the towns.  Maybe I'm confused on setting up the towns.

Typically, I first add the field such as lafld0 and set the properties to Group Master, Field Owned with a Field number and FxxGMS000 object is created.  Then I add the town (town0) and set its properties the same way – Group Master, Field Owned with the same Field number – and FxxGMS001 object is created.

Should the order of adding objects be reversed – start with town and then add the field – so the town is listed as FxxGMS000 in order for the Create All button to make the roads lead to the town?

Some maps don't have Towns so when you press the Create All button, the roads lead to the airfields.  You can edit the roads to lead to the town but make sure you don't change the overall length (it changes the speed of the convoy) and either set the road to supply the specific field or an area large enough to catch both the town and the field.
Easy in-game again.

Convoys use always 10 minutes to go that "service" road. I have used road lenghts between 6 - 8 miles. Then the trucks speed are between 36 - 48 miles per hour.

Train tracks can be between 8 - 10 miles and then the trains speed are between 48 - 60 miles per hour.
