I've uploaded my Finnish Ju 88 to The Skin Department. Your insights would be much appreciated.

This skin has one or two issues which have caused problems on this scheme. First, the lower wing skins are mirrored, so the insignia on the right wing is back to front. Also the rear lower fuselage is triple patched, so I can't make the yellow stripe wrap fully around. There is a thin strip patch below the lower left tailplane which gets transferred above the tailplane. I had to leave this a compromise blue/green shade. Finally the spinners are mapped to a patch on the upper right wing. The tips should be yellow but this can't be done without leaving a yellow blob on the wing. So I made it grey and left a "paint chip" on the wing.

This is an aircraft of 3/PLeLv 44 flown by W/O Unto Oksala, Mannerheim Cross holder. Thanks Wmaker and Kantorri for all the info you got me on this aircraft and to Kwaessa, whose Finnish "dudes" I've used.

That looks awesome, Greebo! Thank you. :)

edit: I'm visiting my parents so I don't have my books so I can't check what's wrong... But I don't think there's much that can be wrong, looks just beautiful. :)

I am assuming that you can't make the tips of the prop spinners yellow. Would some exhaust smudge around the cowlings be fitting ?

Thank you Greebo! Looks great, like all your skins.
Lentotaitoahan minulla ei koskaan ole ollut - vaan eipä sitä taida AH'n kaltasissa airquakeissa paljoa tarvitakaan. On toi reaktionopeus ollu aina aika heikko.

I have checked all your panel lines, shutters (for ex. that one for the rubber boat) etc. and they're just correct! You have even the string to the rubber boat! :D

Have you send it to HTC yet? If not, please hurry up!;)

Thanks for the kind words guys.

There is a fair bit of exhaust dirt on the cowling sides, it wasn't very visible in the first screenshots due to the angles they were taken at. I held back a bit on the weathering since in RL this plane had just been freshly repainted when it saw service.

I can make the spinner tips yellow but it leaves the yellow patch on the wing as shown below. Maybe it isn't too obtrusive though, what do you think?

I'll leave it until at least Monday before sending it in Kanttori, HTC aren't back until then anyway.

I'd say keep the yellow, the spot on the wing isnt bad at all.

kinda nice to think the mechanics and painters might have spilt a drop :D

great work.

Nice ... that little spot on the wing is minor in comparison to getting the spinners correct.
