Plain Old Good Fight
« on: March 07, 2005, 11:18:05 AM »
I tip my hats to the Rooks for putting up a formidable opposition around A61 yesterday Sunday March 6th, 2005. It was some of the best GV fighting that I have seen / participated in a quite a while. That tug of war / back and forth base capture made for an enjoyable afternoon (Thank God my wife was out shopping). A hearty salute to 3HIGH, CAV58, LOONY, KATSASS, RPDBOB and Yes - You too RIDENLOW to name a few. If I did not mention your name and you where there I salute you too. Needless to say I am looking forward to next weekend! RIDENLOW you better practice that long range shot :)

It's a friendly ribbing, not a bashing.  I'm glad you guys had fun.  And there's a pretty good reason you won't find me in a ground vehicle.  Can you guess it?

cc - My bad - I apologize too - I left out the air battle that took place also. It was just as important as the ground war being waged. Actually nice to see some coordinated effort between ground and air units on both sides.

DMF / FURBALL I know you was ribbing me but I am sensitive when it comes to my fellow GVers. Us GVers have needs too - hehe - We like to kill things too - We like supplies also :D

I would give you a week and you would probably be able to roll down a hill in neutral at 80mph and pick people off as you zoom by.

Panzer/Tiger snapshots ... :D

Because I do not do things that I do not enjoy.  I do not enjoy ground vehicle combat.  Ergo, I do not do ground vehicle combat.

It was a cheap kill but necessary at the time. It's one of those kills you want to forget about but my country called and I answered. If you were my countryman Loony and you had troops and were about to take a base with a Tiger blocking your path and the nearest VH was down - Your countryman is beggin for help - bombers were the optimum tactical solution at the time - I would have done the same for you as I did for my countryman. You know I would prefer to sneak behind you in a Panzer and take out your Tiger than drop a 1k on ya. I would use a T34 more often but cheap russians forgot to put a machin gun on the turret and the loader takes too long cause he's probably drunk. Not having a machine gun on the turret is no fun if I can't shoot back at RPDBOB, CAV58, and RIDENLOW when they straffing me with Hurricane D models and IL2s :)
