Any chance of changing your mind on  oboe's P38L skin being accepted considering the info on the hand gesture I posted in the Itsy Bitsy II hand gesture thread? :

(carefully whispers to Dan)

Er.. maybe not answering is the answer...I don't think HTC would change their initial decision.

Perhaps.. the 'change of fingers' would be the only way to get the skin in the game.

Skuzzy said he let the previous thread go for reasons which seemed connected to the discussion of PC.  This has nothing to do with PC, but rather this specific skin as the original assessment of it by HTC has been shown to be incorrect.

Sorry Dan, but it is still a no-go.  99.9% of the players have no clue about things like this.  Just like the Finnish cross I get complaints about all the time.

And sullie, our original assessment is still quite correct.

And why are you complaining to the messenger?  Might as well beat up the postal worker for delivering bills to you.

Thanks for responding, Skuzzy.   In the case of the 'rigit digit' 99.9% might even be a little low.

You guys know my feelings about this, but I figure we're all in this together.    What if I did this to the noseart:

Acceptable to HTC?   Acceptable to you guys?    Honestly, even though it bothers me, unless you're a part of this small inner circle AND zoom in externally on the skin, you'd never really know the difference.

Heck, I might even change one of the Japanese kill flag markers to a PBY silhouette....

As a skinner, my opinion would be 'definately acceptable'

There's basically no reason whatsoever it should not be.

Do it, I love the overall skin.  Besides, I'll remember the original and the 99.9% won't know the difference.

Skuzzy, I believe the original assessment of the skin said it was of a hand flipping people off which was later shown to not be the case.

Works for me oboe.  It's such a beauty of a skin, it would be a shame to let that small detail keep it out.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Skuzzy.

Guess we'll just have to keep teaching the history to bring that 99.8% down a bit in the future :)

It really is the same situation as the Finnish Von Rosen Cross --   a case of mistaken identity.  One symbol being mistaken for another.   Oh well, I suppose HTC must pick their battles.

OK. I'll make the change, but with apologies to the memory of George Laven, his aircraft "Itsy Bitys II", and her ground crew.
