Falcon NW new Talon line
« on: March 12, 2005, 12:37:21 PM »
For years I've been impressed with Falcon NW gaming computers. Now their new Talon line is, IMHO, the best price/quality/performance machine available. If you haven't checked out their new Talon line, have a look at http://www.falcon-nw.com/index.asp

They've upscaled the Talons from very good to outstanding.

Still outrageous if you start configuring everything the way they force you to do it. They make good machines and I have owned a FalconNW rig a good number of years ago but its the reason I build my own systems now. The three grand I spent back in 1995 on a top of the line Pentium 133 (I think) was way out of proportion. Companies like Falcon have a good product but they still think their is profit like they had back then to be made on selling machines.

Plus if I want to get one custom painted I know a few guys who do a quality job locally and it will not cost me too much to get it done.

I wasn't comparing a home built to their machines. If you go out and purchase all your own parts and build yourself, sure it will be cheaper. But compared to other factory built machines, the Falcon NW are superior. Notice I said Quality as one of the characteristics in the Price/Quality/Performance. They will always lose out the sale to the price shopper. It's the combination that makes them my choice.

The system I use now is a home built and rocks. But that's because I've spent years learning all the ins and outs, made the mistakes, and lived with the frustrations of parts that should work together but won't. I think it took me about 10 days to get my last home built working just right.

Falcon NW machines are for those who want high quality, but don't have the time or skill to build it themselves.
