Would anyone like to build a model for me?
« on: March 12, 2005, 10:38:07 PM »
Hey, I have a Tamiya Ducati 916 model i just bought and I'm completely inept at building/gluing/painting things and I know that there are some great model builders here.  I was wondering if any of you would want to build it and paint it for me, and I'd pay for a month or two of AH.

If so leave me a message and we'll work it out.  I'd really appreciate it because I love that motorcycle and I'd really like to have a scale representation of it :)

Edit: it's 1/12th scale.

a bike huh?  the shipping to whomever and build would probably be easy enough, but the shipping back and what would be a fairly fragile build.... whew, doable with some risk...

check the local IPMS chapter, they probably have/know someone local who does commission work with much less chance of damaging it when returned.

did a google on the kit... nice looking kit.

Thanks Shane but I'd much rather have one of the guys here do it as I'd trust them much more.  I've had a model or two shipped to me before (a P-51) and it was ok in lots of paper wrapping....I could arrage it all and what not.  Anyone?

If there is such a market, maybe I could get into the model building business too :)

The only thing is, I have to get Diablo's off my plate first.

I always thought the whole point of building models was the actual building of the models. Once they're done... it's time for the firecrackers and gasoline.

I'll do it for 1/12th the cost of the full scale model...  plus expenses

True!

I used to have a little side business as a kid though.....built a few models for AF pilots who saw my models at a model show. I'd build the planes they flew.

I used to charge only $20.00 dollars and thought I was gonna be rich. SO I made about 20.00 for a weeks work :)

I have to make space to set up my work area again. I have a lot of changes around my house at the moment. I'm not gonna build any model until I get that big 190 done.
