Depends on the man.  From an honorable man, it means a lot.

Your word is your honor. Without honor you are no longer a man.

For me it means nothing. No matter who it is.

If you're a close friend or family you dont need to give me your word.

If you're not, shut up and put your signature on the X.

So if your wife doesn't lie to you, doesn't that make her a man ?

I meant it in the context of honoring your commitment- if you get married, stay married. If you have kids, raise them. If you agree to do something then you should do it. If not then you are less of a man.

Suave wanted to get stupid so he got a stupid answer. Nothing new.

IT'S A MAN'S,MAN'S,MAN'S WORLD

This is a man's world
This is a man's world
But it would be nothing
Nothing without a woman to care

You see man made the cars
To take us over the world
Man made the train
To carry the heavy load
Man made the electro lights
To take us out of the dark
Man made the bullet for the war
Like Noah made the ark
This is a man's man's, man's world
But it would be nothing
Nothing without a woman to care

Man thinks of our little baby girls And the baby boys
Man make them happy 'Cause man makes them toys
And aher man make everything, everything he can
You know that man makes money to buy from other man
This is a man's world
But it would be nothing, nothing
Not one little thing
Without a woman to care

He's lost in the wilderness
He's lost in the bitterness
He's lost, lost and .....

A man's word doesn't need to be given unless its already questionable. I give every man the same thing I would expect, A clean slate unless you do something that shows otherwise.Like others in this thread have said, sometimes a man is only as good as his word.(or as bad)

All hail the godfather of soul!

Funny thing is, I was just listening to this song on the way to the store tonight.  A true classic.
