Weekly GT4 Challenge?

Weekly GT4 Challenge?

How’s this for an idea.

Once a week on a rotating basis one of the GT4 guys here, picks a car and a track we all race for the best times and compare.

We could also rotate it so, one guys chooses the car, another of us the track.

In this one I think the guy choosing the car gets to specify the mods but not the settings. An example would be.

71 cuda, race suspension, full custom tranny, sports tires medium, normal exhaust, NA tune 1, port and polish, balance, chip.

No lightening.

Then not only is it best on track but best at car setup.

What do you guys think? I think this could be fun, plus we could maybe learn a bit more about good car setups.

You can do it with Xlink, info at http://www.gtplanet.net.  I have not tried but I understand it works well once you get it going.

Just have the winner choose the track and car.

We should do Tsukuba, easy to learn and lots of real life lap times available.

I also like Frenchy's idea of using funny cars like FIAT 500's or Subaru 360's.

There is a ballast setting in the setup.  We could just force each week's winner to carry penalty ballast.  I think it goes up to 100kg, pretty significant if we are all in the same car.  We can put it up front to make the car push like a pig.  :)

OK here's the rules. (Let me know if you disagree.)

- Two divisions - Wheel and Gamepad.
- Wheel winner calls next week's track or car (pick one).
- Gamepad winner calls track or car (whatever the wheel winner didn't pick)
- The person specifying which car to use will also specify which mods and TCS/ASM settings are to be used.
- N1, N2, N3 tires only.
- Run laps in GT mode practice.  No other cars on track for drafting.
- Post laptimes by Monday AM.
- Best single lap wins.
- Winners make their "calls" by Tuesday AM.
- Winners must carry maximum ballast on front axle for next week's competition.

my only exception would be, the person selecting the car gets to chose tires as well, but no racing tires just sports and regular.

My reasoning behind this is the all the 60 and 70s cars REALLY suck on road tires lol.
