See, this is why you hippies need the Polyphony Formula. No upgrades at all, 1 type of tires, & still challenging to tune. :) :)

So where we going? Leguna Seca, Motegi, Fuji (I like the 90s) ??

Ok cool.

Let start with, leguna Seca.

69 Z28 Camaro.

NA 1
Race suspension so we can play with suspension settings.

Port and polish, chip and balance.

Full custom tranny.

Race brakes.

Tires Sports medium.

No driving aids at all.

An idea: Instead of listing what mods you are allowed to have, have a $$$ limit on how much you can spend to mod. Not sure how feasable this is, as I dont own the game yet, but it would be cool to see what people come up with to get the most out of the car.

That's actually probably the best idea. Capri takes about 10 minutes to run total, and gives you 320k-ish credits. That's too much though, too easy to make a UFO with that kinda cash. A 75k limit seems more than reasonable. 17k tranny, and 58k to spread across drivetrain/brakes/lightening/etc. I think NOS would be a bit overpowering though for the 5k it costs since we're doing time attacks & can get a fresh bottle every other lap :)

Turning up an extra server today. Soon as I finish updating MySQL, Apache, & some other stuff, I'll put up
GT4Week..com on it so there's a convenient little site the winner can update to pick the next weeks challenge.

I am cool either way, I am at work though so calculating an amount is a tad problematic.

And do the tires stay set? I think they should not be part of the upgrade cost pool.

SO what is a good amount for the 69 Z28?

Is the cost of upgrades the same on all cars?

The cost can vary minutely (like 2-3k) between the manufacturer's factory racing stuff & tuner stuff, but that's the exception rather than the norm. 75k is pretty good number. If we're sticking with street tires, they're what, 8k? Full tranny 17k. stage 1 lightening 5k, NOS 5k. That's still a good 40k for brakes, exhaust, stage 1 or 2 turbo, chip, flywheel, clutch, etc. If y'all are feeling saucy, jumping to 100k is probably worth another 50-100hp at least.

and yeah, no matter what the car is, upgrades still cost the same. when building UFOs, I always assume cost of car + 400k (includes all available tires).
