It's 6%. Different states have different regulations too. All that's required is that the product be labeled as malt liquor or malt beverage. The quality doesn't have to suffer. The problem is with the public perception of 'malt liquor'. Manufacturers believe that the stigma associated with malt liquor will keep any product labeled as such from being successfull.
Oh, mass produced American beer sucks prettythang.
There are many good small batch beers made here though. Ya just gotta find em.
The distributor I used to work for carried Mythos for awhile.
It is fairly nasty.
