TRACK: Laguna Seca
CAR: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
MODS: $75k maximum budget. No R (racing) tires. No Nitrous.
AIDS: TCS and ASM disabled.

RULES:
- Gran Turismo mode practice only. No arcade mode or drafting AI cars.
- Use only those driving aids available on the real life car.
- Try not to cut corners too much.
- Lowest single lap time wins.
- Post times in this thread by Monday AM.
- Winner picks next week's track, car, and mods.
- Winner must carry 50kg ballast in next week's competition. Subsequent wins add 50kg ballast for each win, up to a maximum of 200kg. If winning streak is ended, 50kg is removed each week that the driver does not win.

Gotta hit the sack, right thumb (accel/brake) is hurting like hell and I heard the pad crack under pressure once when braking onto the hairpin

I am going to keep moding. I am also using the game pad right now cause I am lazy and dont want to deal with the wheel.

I did the fastest lap with the default suspension settings.
I forgot to get the gear ratios, will post later. I just used the little auto slider thing to adjust the whole set so it is about 500 rpm short of redline at the end of the "straight"
It's a pretty good car, has some understeer turning in, but you can neutralize it with trail braking and throttle.
It could use a brake controller and stiffer rear bar but no money left for that.

Good choice GTO, it's a fun car. Not a complete pig, and not a UFO even when modded heavily. It even has a real life road racing pedigree.
