HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!

May the singing of all the holy saints, to the music of St. Gabriel's Angel Band, set all the wee folk and the leprechauns merrily dancin' on the roof of your home. And may bushel baskets of blessings come to you and all your kin as well on this holy feast day of St. Patrick. Happy Saint Patrick's Day and may good fortune be yours!

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead

Where did you get that picture of me DREDIOCK?:D

I suppose as the only officially licensed Irishman on these boards. I should wish everyone a happy St Patrick's day. Even you Brits;)

The one good thing about St Patrick's day here in Ireland is that we all get the day off.

As they say in the Irish language.

"I was born on a Dublin street where the Royal drums did beat
And the loving English feet they walked all over us
And each and every night when me da would come home tight
He'd invite the neighbours outside with this chorus

Come out you black and tans, come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell her how the IRA made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes of Killashandra

Come let me hear you tell how you slandered great Parnell
Whom you fought and well and truly persecuted
Where are the sneers and jeers that you bravely let us hear
When our heros of sixteen were executed

Come tell us how you slew those brave Arabs two by two
Like the Zulus they had spears and bows and arrows
How you bravely slew each one with your sixteen pounder gun
And you frightened them poor natives to their marrow

The day is coming fast and the time be here at last
When each yeoman will be cast aside before us
And if there be a need sure my kids will sing God speed
With a verse of two of Steven Behan's chorus.

Come out you black and tans, come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell her how the IRA made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes of Killashandra"

I heard this song being sung at a local pub here the other night.  It was the most popular of all songs done, the Irish in the pub were standing up and SHOUTING the chorus.  I figure it'd be pretty popular here too today...well, amongst the Irish anyway.

Thing is it is my understanding that you didnt celebrate it there until after we started celebrating it here.

Over here it has to be one of the most inclusive holidays if not the most inclusive holidays he have.

Doesnt matter what your color or your religion.

Everyone celebrates St. Pattys day.
