U should be able to tell what plane it is as soon as u get with 1000 yrds.  Same with gv, espescially if it a flak or m16 as more then likely they will shot back before u get with 2000 yrds.

That might work in the CT, but in the MA???????? How would you tellif it was friendy or not since you often have Spits fighting Spits, etc?

Aircraft to aircraft should always have icons and friendlies should always see other friendy icons no matter what vehicle they are in.

What I was proposing is that GV icons do not show up for any enemy vehicle. Therefore an enemy plane with bombs would have to see the GV itself, not just the icon. This way it makes it more fair when a GV is faced with an enemy bomber.

This is to compensate for the removal of the tree influence on bombs. If I hide in the trees as it stands my icon gives me away, this is equally as unrealistic as bombs landing on top of trees.

Morph:  I doubt he was talking about shooting through tree trunks.

Any projectile passing through something before it strikes its intended target will be affected in one way or another.

I highly doubt, hawker, that he was refering to the tree tops when he asked for the ability to shoot through trees. If not that, then between? We already know you can shoot between trees tho... so?

Be cool to fire a couple of rounds in the trees and blow the crap outa them , Clearing a path to the tank you want to kill.  Now I'd buy that for a dollar!

Naturally go in after you kill the tank you want and plant some tree seeds and water for 15 - 20 minutes to regrow the forest.  <----  for the squarrel people and the green peace people?  right?  keep things on the up and up here  :)

I think trees stopping bombs is gamey.

But in the MA, people do all kinds of exotic things to try and stop GVs. They strafe it with HMGs, drop bombs at super low alts, up a buff and spray the entire area with 42x 1k bombs, go crash into it... and when they die, they up again and repeat it until the GV is dead/disabled - and that's pretty much darned unrealistic and gamey, too, IMO.

So, considering the fact that trees and forests are probably the only safe haven from the onslaught of aircrafts(as opposed to the fact that in RL, aircraft were extremely inefficient and ineffective means to destroy GVs), I think the titanium roof-top forests are pretty much fine.

I get back on topic, I was talking about being able to have a bomb actually fall through some branches and hit the ground.  I don't know what the perception of trees are, but I live in the middle of a forest and can tell you that branches would not stop a bomb.

And trees provide the protection of hiding your icon, no need for them to be a bomb shelter.
