I have an Audigy 2 card and I cannot seem to find the right software no matter what I do. I've tried using the disk that came with the card (Alienware system) without success, I've tried downloading them off the net and except for the soundbank manager and the Creative HQ I can't get anything else to install much less work.

Everything runs ok, its just that my mic in AH runs too soft and the regular Windows based recorder doesn't seem to be able to modify it to a high enough recording level.

If anyone has suggestions or the software itself, I would really appreciate it. I'm coming close to trashing the card and buying a new one off the shelf.

You need EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2_1_84_50 just install the basic windows driver.

Oh I hope you did not install Creative Labs utility software. That is some of the most invasive and corrupting software ever unleashed on the unsuspecting public.
It can mangle a good computer system.

Nice card Siaf, except it has zero support for 3D DirectSound output. I would stay away from it for gaming.

It also does just like the SBLive! card where it exposes no hardware buffering to DirectSound. Basically, the focus for this sound card is not gaming. CPU utilization is going to be very high.

Okay, I tried that file and it tells me that it 'cannot find any SB Audigy on my system'.

Meanwhile, it has the Audigy 2 listed in Device Manager.

Help!

I use a P4P800 by Asus.

Sounds like you may be running XP-64, if thats the case you can get the 64 bit driver here.

i have an audigy 2 value , it is a big improvment over the sb live i was using . i only use it for gaming so i just went with the cheaper one 38

No, I'm not running XP64 or a 64bit chip.

Anyone have any ideas?

Uninstall the creative software, power off.
Physically remove the sound card.
Restart comp and check all creative stuff is removed.
Power off and refit sound card. Reboot do not let windows detect and install drivers.
Manually reinstall the basic windows drivers from your install cd if you have them, after that install the file i linked above.

have used Audigy2 and Audigy2 ZS platinum with no
problems in AH 1 or 2.
