The only problem the CT had before all of this came up was a lack of people flying in it.

There wasnt a CT for a period of time after the release of AH2. When it was reopened the only maps that were available were MA maps for several weeks. We then got the BoB map and things picked up a bit but things got stale soon with the same map week after week after week. We did mix things up a bit like running Finn/Russ on it, but it seemed like alot of people coming in couldnt get past the plane set not matching the map. Maps started to come in and numbers fluxed up and down. The technical side of things have improved alot but the atmosphere sucks. I have no explantion beyond that. Peoples actions speak for themselves at this point. My knee jerk reaction before when you said the CT was a failure was that you were wrong. That was because of my memories of how the CT was. Given what it is now, I think you may be right.

so in essence, what is missing from the CT at present is a friendly atmosphere and open channel where friends and foe can chat.

dying to a 3 on 1 gang bang is not so bad if you can laugh about it after.

when its just s 'die, die, die, you have been killed by a machine' feeling, the sense of enjoyment is hugely decreased in my view.

some of the better sticks in the game fly in CT and the fights are always quality.

just lacking that human imput feeling the MA has.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

by the time I logged last night, 2 am est this morning, I had been killed by or flown side by side with some of AH best:

Levi
Redd
Truekill
daddog
Morpheus
jamusta
YUCCA
VWE001 .. to name a few

it was civil and extremely enjoyable, considering I spent as much time in a chute as I did an aeroplane :)

Early on I was wanting to talk some smack and Leviathn kept me in check.

I am really glad he did..... I also had a great time.  Not a sour grape all night.  Just good old fashioned fights.
