Fruda if I do them they will be as authentic as possible. To be honest I don't even know if they could be used. The indicators I'm doing are all being done using a compass to align all my marks properly so you can get a value for x amount of degrees in travel.
As you can see with the airspeed indicator as you go around the value per degrees changes 3 times. From 0 to 50 each degree equals 10 miles per hour. From 50 to 300 approximately every 9 degrees equals 10 miles per hour. From 300 to 700 every 15 degrees equals 50 miles per hour. I don't know if HTC could or would use this type of setup because it would create more work to get the needle to point correctly as the airspeed increases or decreases.
Either way I'll continue doing the P-51D indicators just for fun. I know that when I get to the fuel, oil and temp indicator the lines may be to small to read but who knows. The one indicator contains all three indicating systems. I think with adding the authentic range marks (Red, Yellow, Green and white) it wouldn't make it such a big deal considering you would only be referencing the area of color that the needle is in opposed to looking at the needle and comparing it to the hash marks.
