Instead of trying to get the feel of the community through posts and emails, could you guys at HTC just post a poll that registered members could vote on.  These polls could be used for the bigger issues, like night time and perking certain aircraft.  I know the ability to post polls by normal members was taken away do to the high number of them, but this problem wouldn't exist if they could only be posted by the company.

The most fickle part of this game are the customers.  Why would HT and Pyro want to let them drive their boat?

Ya know, some decisions you may not like, but you maybe think (and here I am talking in-depth total focused concentration) about this game plus or minus 4 minutes per day.

Now I realize this board is populated with game design geniuses and all, but HTC thinks about this stuff all day, every day.  Might be they have a better handle on things?

No thanks.

There are very few items I would ever trust a vote for.

HT,

Don't think he is saying let the customers decide the course of the company through voting.  Looks like hes saying use a poll to get the flavor of popular opinion which sounds reasonable.

Thanks for the reply HT.

Yes, rabbidrabbit is correct.  I wasn't saying that whatever the vote says be the final decision, just a cold hard way of feeling out an issue.

We do polls from time to time, but sharing the results with customers would have lots of detriments, and realy  cant see any gain.

So keep the results private.. What if the majority of people want something, but just arent saying anything.. How is HTC supposed to know about it?

Perhaps HTC should host an official poll that only registered members could reply to asking whether or not HTC should host official polls that only registered members could reply to!  Anyway, I think that's what I meant....

i would say only do polls for new planes htc is thinking about adding. Say HTC feels 5 planes are worth working on for the next release but they can only get 2 done. Poll those 5 planes and see what top 2 the community would want. Keep the results private for HTC only. Then you dont add things which noone wants and you get a feel for what the community would be happy with.

I can't help but think no poll in the bbs would ever be fair or a good reflection of the thoughts and wishes of the MA populace. Out of what, 5000+, we have a few hundred on the board? It'd be more a representative republic than a democracy, and we all know how bad that would suck.
