A new version of the beta is available for downloads. Please see the previous news posts on the DX8 beta if you are trying it for the first time.

Video setup now has two new settings-
Mip-mapping removes the texture shimmer that you see in the distance.
High-res textures forces 32 bit textures that smooths out some color ramping.
The texture overlays are still disabled in this version. Some other optimizations have been made as well.
If you have a problem with this version, please try to deselect the new video settings and check to see if that makes a difference. Thanks.
