Well... you have one of two things... viral conjunctivitis or bacterial conjunctivitis.

Hope it's the latter. If it's viral, you might be contagious.

wash your hands anytime you touch your face.  Buy a decent antibacterial and an anti viral soap.

That should help it not to spread to the other eye.

...and after your eyes clear up, get rid of the anti-bacterial soap. There's no reason to compromise your immune system any more than necessary.

Wasn't that Kenny's diagnosis when he was inadvertantly brought back to life when worchishire sause contaminated the embalming fluid used on him in an early episode of South Park?

That has happened to me before, one contact got dirty and I was at work so I couldnt do anything about it. Got red and hurt bad and couldnt see that good in that one eye. Had to leave the contact out for a couple of days and it was fine again.

I just had a bout of it recently. Sounds like that is waht it is. I was told its only contagious for a certain short period of time and that the eye drops they give you to treat it, will once under medication should allow you to go back to work.

I had to take 2 days off myself because everybody here at work was in shock and awe that I was at work with pink eye. So to shut them up I took 2 days of sick leave.
